Tumblr’s official iOS app has been updated today with a number of new sharing features, in addition to Instapaper and Pocket integration, that let you “do more than just reblog when you find something you love.” The update also makes some improvements to the photo viewer and the way the app displays GIF images.
Tumblr now allows you to share posts — with your own comments — via Facebook, Twitter, and more when you stumble across something you’d like your friends to see. Alternatively, you can send entire posts with beautiful new templates via email.
If you don’t have time to finish reading a post, or you find something you’d like to save for later, you can now send it to your read-it-later lists in Instapaper or Pocket.
In addition to this, several smaller improvements have been made to existing features. You can now close photos by swiping up or down — like in the Facebook app, and GIF images now animate while you scroll. You’ll also find your ‘Following’ list is finally alphabetized and searchable, which will make finding your favorite blogs much quicker.
You can download the latest Tumblr update from the App Store now.
