What If The Hobbit Used iOS 6 Maps? [Humor]

As everyone who has ever read J.R.R. Tolkein’s classic fantasy novel, The Hobbit, knows, Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Thorin Oakshield and a company of twelve other dwarves make their way from Bag’s End to the Lonely Mountan to battle Smaug on a journey by way of Rivendell, the Mirkwood and the Misty Mountains.

Here’s what the actual trip looked like. Thank goodness they didn’t trust iOS 6 Maps as their navigator, right?

I still like how in google maps on the desktop if you look for walking directions from the Shire to Mordor and you get a nice little “One does not simply walk into Mordor” line.

I doubt the Hobbits would use a GPS device regardless. They enjoyed the simple life of wandering. Much like the TV show Revolution does. No technology. No transportation. Spend months walking the dirt roads to cities.

How is this classified as ‘humour’? Aren’t jokes supposed to be funny? Oh, I get it, you’re playing the Google spin job game and using stereotypes that the tech blogs try to beat into the ground, despite being false.

Got it. If I wanted fake stories and spin, I’d go to Google’s PR department.
