China Is Already Selling Cheap Android Knock-Offs Of The iPhone 5

What is a Goophone? It sounds absolutely filthy, but the Goophone i5 is the first of what will undoubtedly be many flagrant Chinese rip-offs of the upcoming design of the new sixth-generation iPhone, set to be unveiled next month. Expect to see a lot more of these going forward, but credit where credit’s due: these Chinese counterfeiters certainly have their acts together if they can steal the design of a phone that isn’t even out yet.

So Apple will not make any effort to defend its IP, trade dress, design utility patents or any other legitimate complaints in the face of the blatant ripoffs made. Very interesting.

So, maybe this is what all those leaked parts were for all along? Fake iPhones? If the next iPhone turns out to look nothing like this, it sure would be a surprise, wouldn’t it? :-)

  3. RaptorOO7 says:

It would be funny, but the leaked parts were for a 4″ display and associated unibody so I don’t think so. Of course with all of the leaks IF Apple rolls out something totally different then it will be a shocker.

    Surprised it’s not a Samsung j/k

  5. gnomehole says:

Samsung fanboys would suggest its “just a square” and turn a blind eye to the cloning.

They are nothing if not predictable.. (if not a bit dumb)
