This time last week we had very little idea of what the new iPhone may look like. Sure, we had rumors and claims that gave us something to go on, but none of them were supported by any evidence. But in the space of just a few days, we’ve seen several front and back panels from a number of different sources, which have today been backed up by what is purported to be a leaked blueprint for the next-generation iPhone.
The plan was first published by Japanese blog Macotakara, which has a mixed track record when it comes to Apple rumors, but it originates from iPhone repair specialists iLab Factory. It’s unclear how exactly it was obtained, but it would seem someone somewhere has no respect for Apple’s desire for secrecy.
That is, of course, if it is genuine. Something like this could so easily be faked using a simple piece of design software. Heck, even Microsoft Paint is capable of creating this. And the fact that it comes after those panel leaks — when hoaxers have something to go by — and all of the specifics have been blurred out makes it even more suspect.
But let’s assume it is genuine and take a look at what the plan tells us about the next iPhone. It’s hard to establish the size of the device because without those specifics, but it certainly seems to sport a longer form factor with a larger display. It definitely has a home button, despite rumors suggesting that that will disappear, and it seems the FaceTime camera has been moved. The small circle above the handset’s earpiece could be the FaceTime camera’s new home, though that could also be a proximity sensor.
Unfortunately there are no plans for the handset’s rear end, so this is all we have right now. But you can be sure we’ll see plenty more of these leaks before the new iPhone gets its unveiling later this year.

My evo is wider and longer that the iPhone 4s, the next iPhone will have to be at least as big or I’ll spend my money on another android. Sorry apple! I was hoping to have all apple products and the phone is the last thing I need to do this.
Isn’t that from the same source as the leaked components? A leak from the same source doesn’t really support any claims, it only goes to say that somebody at the source really wants us to believe that it’s real.
Fakey McFake Fake. This suggests a home button on both the front an back. Also notice the insides do not change from the left to the right.
Cough cough bullshite cough cough
What happened to doubling down on secrecy??? What a joke
phil i 1000% agree if the display is not atleast 4 and a half inches. im going with the driod nexus
Erm…what? The back is not even shown here. READ the damn article!
I hope Apple will not do the stupid thing and create a phone with a huge screen just to compete with the rest of the frying pans in the market. I am using an iPhone since the first one and I find that the screen size perfectly shows me what I need, and also I can operate my phone with just one hand, instead of both hands and my lap. I do have an iPad, I don’t need another one. For the aging population and the visually impaired, reading glasses can be a good alternative to a phone that has the size of a frying pan.
These have been leaked without the blurs:
I’ve used solid modeling software before. That’s the type of software engineers use to design a product and make a drawing of it.
Your comparing your EVO to an iPhone 4S? lol That’s like comparing a Honda to a BMW. The camera and screen alone on the 4S blows away the quality of the Evo’s. Personally, I’d rather look at great smaller screen, than a larger inferior screen. And the quality of the 4S camera is better than anything out there right now. Including the Evo and Galaxy S2. I’ve tested them out. But hey, if the phone one has suits their needs, then it’s the best phone for them.
I find all these leaks lately to be legit. Here’s why:
1) It has all of the stuff thats been rumored for it to have
2) Bigger screen = room for LTE chip
3) it looks like a product Apple would make
4) No one has been able to debunk it
5) Pictures have come from two different sources, at two different times, of the same product.
I think it’s real, but it may just be a real prototype. So who really knows…
I was referring to the size of the screen silly. Just screen size. Re-read my post.
