Katy McCaffrey had her iPhone stolen on a cruise ship last month. She had lost hope in recovering her smartphone, but then photos started showing up in her Photo Stream. The handy iCloud service automatically uploads photos taken on an iOS device to a feed that can be viewed on other authenticated devices.
Thanks to Photo Stream, McCaffrey got a look into the world of the man who stole her iPhone.
In a public Facebook photo album titled “Stolen iPhone Adventures,” McCaffrey has uploaded 20 photos taken on her iPhone by a man named Nelson. “It was stolen on board the Disney Wonder cruiseline back in April,” she said. “His photos are just making it to my photostream.”
Based on the photos, McCaffrey knows that Nelson works on the cruise line. He has posted photos of his pregnant girlfriend (who works at the ship’s spa), his drinking buddies, sunsets, Mexican coastline, a fake parrot, pirate hookers, and more.

“I have alerted the officials of the Disney Cruiseline and forwarded them the photos,” McCaffrey said. “Hopefully I’ll get my phone back and maybe some free passes to Disneyland.”
Update: Looks like Nelson has already been fired. His Facebook reads “worked at Disney Cruise Line.” Poetic justice at its finest.

This post needs to be re titled ‘Woman, doesn’t know how to use find my iPhone’
OMG how do I be funny like you, did you go to clown school?
I love it… hope the guy and his GF get FIRED. I’d title it.. “Thief doesn’t know how to properly steal a phone… loses nice job for being a moron”
Tyler, you are incorrect, the thief probably turned off the find my phone setting but didn’t turn off the photo stream setting there fore she couldn’t locate it but every photo would go up to iCloud
I’m sorry but the “find my iPhone” comment below was genius. Hahahahahahaha can’t stop laughing.
How is it that no thief seems to realize that they can completely wipe these iPhones when they steal them and start over…if I were to steal an iPhone, that’s the first thing I would do. I guess that shows how stupid they really are!
It wasn’t mentioned if the iPhone was locked.
It is possible to use the camera even if the phone is locked.
He probably wasn’t able to use the phone other than takes pictures.
It is possible that he only wanted to show off(hey I have an iPhone) and kept taking pics.
I’m a Filipino and he looks like one too so it’s kinda frustrating. Lol
OMG!!! Get that thief FIRED!!!! everyone re-tweet and re-post until it’s done!!!! the nerve of this people… and he’s so technologically challenged…. In really hope he gets fried by Disney… F R I E D also fired.
lynching a guy in public – how tasteless.
So LoL on this story.
Not great publicity for Disney. His ass is so fired!
Tasteless move by the gal but then again the guy deserves it especially since it’s a phone which can easily be brought back to the owner. Maybe the guy lives and works his life away on this slave ship so he didn’t even bother returning it.

Moron. Lol.
This is awesome!
Why would Katy have her iPhone stolen? You mean to say Katy’s iPhone was stolen.
Found the “girlfriend”
The Disney Wonder Cruise Ship was docked in Vancouver on Monday
Tasteless? So do you suppose we should just say “Yeahooowww, I’m glad the lady was so dumb to let her phone get stolen” People like this and others need to know if you steal a phone you deserve to get busted and roasted. Personally I think if you steal a phone you should get nailed for a felony seeing that half the time some of the these phones run close or if not more than 500 per.
As you can tell I have a strong disliking for phone thieves.
Good, but not as good as Photoshop a phone thief http://photoshopaphonethief.tumblr.com/
I don’t think you understand what the word lynch means.
There seem to be a lot of vulgarity on the web.
how do we know this lady didnt just lose her phone and dude found it and doesnt know the proper way of returning lost shit or mb he just went with the finders keepers shiz i mean it was on a cruise ship and not a local place were u can put up a sign
Another reason why people should use iCloud! But, I wonder why she didn’t use the “find my iphone” app. – BA
Find my iPhone won’t work on a cruise ship. It was a month before the phone uploaded the photos. What I think happened is the person with the phone went off the ship into an internet cafe/starbucks/etc… and at that time the phone uploaded the photos.
“hopefully get some free passes to Disneyland”
I’d be going for a lot more than free passes…..$$$.
How so you got a guy and possibly his pregnant girlfriend fired. So now when the baby is due there is one less person to pay for the medical bills for the baby and mother. You put a family in a horrible economic spot all over an …iphone. A stupid piece of overpriced technology which had been lost since April and she seemed to be living just fine without it. A piece of meaningless tech has possibly ruined a family. Great job!
Fired, hell, he’d be fired and Disney would be buying me a new phone or getting me back my old one. They hired this idiot!
Nelson M. Cruz is a thief AND a dick! He was stupid, he was evil and he was thoughtless. And now he’s been fired for his bad and despicable behavior. I guess there is karma!
The past tense in “Worked at”is a Facebook default, check your own. So he might not be fired yet….
Facebook is always saying so-and-so “worked” someplace when they still work there – I guess people aren’t using their setting properly. Whatever the reason is, that’s not proof that he was fired.
He’s only been placed on administrative leave:
http://travel.usatoday.com/cruises/post/2012/05/disney-wonder-stolen-iphone/700211/1. It’s good to verify facts!
The employee shouldn’t have been fired. I doubt he pick pocketed the woman to acquire the phone. Dumb bitch probably left it on a railing or something and the employee who probably makes 10 bucks an hour took it thinking it was his lucky day. We are all accountable for our own actions, given he could have given it back the woman still could have prevented the loss in the first place.
anyone that thumbs up that comment should be smacked for not taking 2 seconds to think about the situation.
He was an employee and I’m certain their code of conduct includes if you find something a passenger lost you return it directly to the customer if possible and if not to customer service so they can try to return it to the passenger. Not following that code is a fireable offense with many things, like this one, being immediate and without appeal. That admin leave he was placed on was probably for them to do the paperwork.
