Those of you wishing for an 8-megapixel camera in the upcoming iPhone 5 might just be in luck. According to a report from Taiwan Economic News, Apple has secured deals with two manufacturers who will supply 8-megapixel cameras for Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone.
Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical are said to be the two chosen suppliers, according to the report. Both companies were responsible for supplying the 5-megapixel camera currently used in the iPhone 4, and securing the iPhone 5 deal is said to be a massive boost for the two.
Orders from both Largan and Genius mean the companies combined enjoyed about 27.5% of the global market share last year, thanks, of course, to the iPhone’s increasing popularity.
As AppleInsider notes, while we’ve heard a number of conflicting rumors regarding the iPhone 5’s shape, size, and display, speculation regarding the introduction of two particular features — the Apple A5 chip and an 8-megapixel camera — seems to have been consistent throughout.

I remember reading so many reports of sony supplying the cameras for them..hmm..
I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for. I use http://goo.gl/WI0s3

these are LENS suppliers, the article is a bit incorrect
Putting this in the touch would make it worth buying.
this just means certain iphones with certain cameras will be better, sort of how the LCD panels on the macbook were like that
Thanks for sharing informatic contents about iphone 4 deals handset. These sources are really useful for apple iphone lovers.
Both of these suppliers are lens suppliers NOT image sensor manufacturers. I had heard that Omnivision were to be the supplier of sensors for the new phone. http://www.ovt.com
