Image editing application Acorn has been updated to version 3, and now comes with a boatload of new features for you to play with.
If you’ve never encountered Acorn before, think of it as Photoshop without the price tag and the scary interface. Acorn is fast and friendly and does a truckload of useful things with images.
New features in 3.0 include layer styles, so you mess with non-destructive image effects to see what works and what doesn’t, without having to worry about losing good stuff. It can now also import and export PSD files – handy if you still need to use Photoshop as well.
For a limited time, until April 20th, the new version is available for $29.99 on the Mac App Store – after that it will cost you $50. If you want to try before you buy, grab a trial version direct from the Flying Meat website.
