Apple Let Loose Event: We found more precious nuggets in new software releases from WWDC24: new wallpapers for Apple devices. They include Mac versions that reference old-school icons, iPad landscape and portrait wallpapers in various colors, and similar pretty images for iPhone.

“This new dynamic wallpaper floats over old Macintosh iconography, Control Panel, and applications like the Calculator and MacWrite, Apple’s early word processor,” Basic Apple Guy said of the new-old Mac wallpaper he found.

The truly intrepid user who’s not afraid of a few bugs can join the Apple Beta Software Program to find new wallpapers in early beta versions of iOS 18, macOS Sequoia and iPadOS 18. But if you just want quick and easy access to the new wallpapers without worrying about temporarily screwing up your device with buggy beta software, follow the links below. Third-party sites already downloaded the new wallpapers for you.

So just follow the links below to links on websites offering the wallpaper. Once you click to download an image, it will open full-screen. Then you can click and hold on the image or right-click on it, and then choose Save Image As to save and name it.

After the download, open the Settings app and select Wallpaper. You should see an option to add or change the wallpaper on your device’s screen. On an iPhone, for example, you can set different images for the Lock Screen and Home Screen. Another way to bring up the wallpaper editor, which says “Add new wallpaper” at the top, is to click and hold on your Lock Screen and then click the plus (“+”) icon at bottom right.

Also note: If you prefer the macOS wallpaper but you want it on your mobile device, that’s still doable. You can download them on an iPhone or iPad, make a Photos album, and set it to random rotation as your Lock Screen.
