Apple’s new M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air are now on sale. Customers who preordered the tablets are also getting their units today in launch countries.

If you did not preorder the new iPads, you can pick one up from your nearest Apple store or authorized retail store.

M4 iPad Pro packs big upgrades

Apple announced the M4 iPad Pro with Ultra Retina XDR displays at its “Let Loose” event on May 7th. They are Apple’s thinnest device yet, with a waistline of 5.3mm and 5.1mm for the 11-inch and 13-inch variants, respectively.

The new iPad Pro also marks the debut of the Apple M4 chip. Based on TSMC’s 2nd gen 3nm node, the SoC packs a 10-core CPU with four performance and six efficiency cores. The device boasts a 10-core GPU with native hardware ray tracing support, alongside a powerful new 16-core Neural Engine. You can get the 2024 iPad Pro with up to 2TB storage, with 1TB and higher models shipping with 16GB RAM.

Pricing for the M4 iPad Pro starts from $999 for the 11-inch model with Wi-Fi connectivity. The 13-inch variant costs $1,299, with the cellular option costing an additional $200. You can get the M4 iPad Pro in silver or black color.

iPad Air gets a faster chip

Compared to the M4 iPad Air, the 2024 iPad Air packs more modest festures. It switches to a faster M2 chip, with Apple adding a new 13-inch model to the lineup. Besides other minor changes like faster Wi-Fi and a landscape front camera, this is the same iPad Air that Apple was selling previously.

Like the M4 iPad Pro, the 2024 iPad Air lineup also supports the nee Apple Pencil Pro with all its useful gestures.

The M2 11-inch iPad Air costs $599, while the 13-inch variant retails for $799. It is available in four colors, including purple and blue.

If you haven’t placed your order yet, consider getting the M4 iPad Pro or M2 iPad Air from Amazon. The retail is already taking up to $50 off them. You can also go through our M4 iPad Pro vs. M2 iPad Air comparison to decide which iPad is worth your money.

Getting the base models of the latest iPad Pro delivered requires a wait of several weeks, though the tablets are available for pickup in Apple retail stores.
