Apple is reportedly mere days away from launching Beats Solo Buds truly wireless earbuds. And Beats Solo 4 over-the-ears headphones will also premiere on Tuesday, April 30, according to an unconfirmed report.

Both will supposedly cost significantly less than similar AirPods models, though without all the same features.

Beats Solo Buds could undercut AirPods at $79

Apple’s Beats line of headphones are kept separate from AirPods. For one, the marketing strategy lets Apple offer cheaper alternatives without it affecting its premium brand. And (unlike AirPods), Beats come with “one touch” pairing with either iPhone or Android.

Starting small, Beats Solo Buds will launch at $79.99, according to Android Headlines. And while that’s below the cost of AirPods 3, buyers should expect quality audio. According to the leak:

“Each earbud does include dual-layer transducers that are designed to minimize micro-distortions across the frequency curve, ensuring high-fidelity sound with uncompromising clarity and detail. The earbuds are also equipped with a custom-designed microphone powered by an advanced noise-learning algorithm.”

The buds will allegedly come with range of replacement ear tips sizes, up to 18 hours of battery life, Find My support, and a charging case that uses USB-C.

Unlike AirPods, Beats Solo Buds will supposedly come in a range of colors: Matte Black, Storm Gray, Arctic Purple, and Transparent Red.

But don’t expect the earbuds to launch until June. Compare the $79.99 pricetag to the lowest cost AirPods: currently $129.

Beats Solo 4 might sell for $199

The larger hardware of Beats Solo 4 over-the ears headphones will make room for many more features, according to Android Headlines. That includes “upgraded, powerful sound,” though no specifics are available.

They’ll allegedly support Lossless Audio via USB-C, plus a 3.5mm audio connection and Bluetooth are also audio options.

Apple will reportedly build in Spatial Audio and Dynamic Head Tracking, as well as Find My, “Hey Siri” and Audio Sharing support for iPhone users.

Expect 50 hours of battery life, with 10 minutes of charging bringing 5 hours of use.

Beats Solo 4 will allegedly cost $199 (not $549 like AirPods Max) on the May 2 launch. Color options will be Matte Black, Slate Blue and Cloud Pink.

This is not the first we’ve heard of Beats Solo 4 — rumors have been circulating for months.
