The world got its first look at The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, which will star British comedian Noel Fielding as the legendary British highwayman. The first hilarious trailer for the upcoming comedy-adventure series dropped Monday.

The show premieres on Apple TV+ in early March.

The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin are clearly completely made up

Dick Turpin was a real English highwayman and also a poacher, burglar, horse thief and killer. He was hung for his crimes in 1739, and was actually a rather minor figure during his lifetime. However, he became famous in later centuries as the subject of stories and plays.

As its name suggests, Fielding’s version will be the least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship and great hair.

Apple says his adventures begin when he “sets out on a journey of wildly absurd escapades when he’s made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws — and tasked with outwitting corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde (Hugh Bonneville).”

The new trailer for The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin shows Fielding as quite a nice chap who’s utterly unsuited for the life of crime he’s embarking upon:

It’s all about Noel Fielding

Noel Fielding is best known for the comedy series The Mighty Boosh, though most Americans might only recognize him as a co-presenter of The Great British Bake Off. He has a surreal comedy style that is likely to be on full display in the upcoming Apple TV+ series.

Starring alongside Fielding are Ellie White (The Windsors), Marc Wootton (High & Dry), Duayne Boachie (Blue Story), Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Tamsin Greig (Episodes), Asim Chaudhry (The Sandman), Dolly Wells (The Outlaws), Joe Wilkinson (Sex Education), Mark Heap (Friday Night Dinner), Geoff McGivern (Free Rein), Michael Fielding (The Mighty Boosh), Samuel Leakey (Gretel & Hansel) and Kiri Flaherty.

The series was created by Claire Downes, Ian Jarvis and Stuart Lane.
