If you’re in the market for Apple earbuds, second-gen AirPods Pro with a USB-C case are the earbuds to beat. And this hot new AirPods Pro sale slashes the $249 list price down to just $199.99 … and it comes with AppleCare+!

Plus, if you order by 11:59 a.m. Pacific on Wednesday, December 20, you can take delivery by Christmas.

The only (potential) drawback is that this AirPods Pro deal is for Costco members only. But never fear: If you’re not already a member, Cult of Mac Deals offers a great deal on a Costco membership that will let you save money on Apple gear every day of the year.

AirPods Pro sale: $199.99 with Apple Care+

Second-gen AirPods Pro, aka AirPods Pro 2, offer significant upgrades over Apple’s original pro earbuds. We’re talking two times better active noise cancellation, thanks to the Apple H2 chip inside. Plus, you get longer battery life, improved audio, more precise device tracking and updated controls. They even come with a set of extra-small eartips!

In addition to swapping the original AirPods Pro 2‘s Lightning case for USB-C, the latest version boosts resistance to dust and water. (It’s rated IP54 versus the original AirPods Pro 2’s IPX4.) And finally, if you plan to get an Apple Vision Pro when it debuts in early 2024, the latest AirPods Pro with USB-C will let you steep yourself in lossless audio while wearing the mixed-reality headset.

AppleCare+ is a fantastic addition to any AirPods

Adding AppleCare+ to these highly recommended Apple earbuds just makes this sweet deal even sweeter.

In fact, if you buy any AirPods, we recommend buying AppleCare+. It extends Apple’s warranty by a year and gives you extra protection in case your earbuds’ batteries start to peter out or you run into some other type of problem.

As Costco says: “AppleCare+ for Headphones extends your coverage to two years from your AppleCare+ purchase date and adds unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection, each subject to a service fee of $29 plus applicable tax. In addition, you’ll get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts via chat or phone.”

While this powerful perk usually costs $29, AppleCare+ comes totally free with your purchase in this AirPods Pro 2 sale. And you’re paying no more than Amazon’s current price for Apple’s latest pro earbuds without AppleCare+.

Save on a Costco membership if you don’t already have one

As for Costco … I love shopping there. Aside from great deals on Apple gear and other tech, Costco sells lots of high-quality items at big discounts.

Yes, it’s a warehouse shopping experience — not a high-tone affair like going to a glitzy Apple Store. But big-box stores have their place. Plus, you can’t beat Costco’s low, low prices on everything from rotisserie chickens and top-shelf booze to mattresses and gasoline.

The discounted one-year Costco membership I mentioned above costs $60, but it comes with a $40 Costco gift card. That means if you play your cards right (i.e. use the gift card), you really pay just $20 net for a Costco Gold Star Membership, which typically goes for $60 a year.

Pair the AirPods Pro 2 sale with the Costco deal for unbeatable savings

One caveat: These two deals are completely unrelated. So if you’re signing up for a Costco membership, and in the meantime Costco sells out of the AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C, there’s nothing we can do for you. (Costco says the $199.99 sale price runs through December 25 or “while supplies last.”)

If you’re already a Costco member, and you don’t already own AirPods Pro 2 (or have some wrapped under the Christmas tree for a loved one), this deal is not to be missed. $199.99 is just about 10 bucks more than the lowest price we’ve ever seen for AirPods Pro 2 with the USB-C case. And, as mentioned, it comes with AppleCare+.

If you don’t belong to Costco, this deal seems like a pretty strong argument for joining.

Note: Obviously, we earn a commission if you buy a Costco membership from Cult of Mac Deals. However, we do not earn a commission from Costco.
