Apple Self Service Repair program is expanding to include the iPhone 15 and additional M2 Macs. The company is also making its repair program available in 24 new European countries.

With the latest additions, Apple’s Service Service Repair now supports 35 products and is available in 33 countries.

Self Service Repair now includes iPhone 15 and all M2 Macs

Apple announced its Self Service Repair Program in November 2021. Initially, the DIY repair initiative supported iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, with M1 MacBooks later joining the list. In late 2022, the company expanded the program to some European countries and added support for Mac desktops, including the 2022 Mac Studio, Mac mini, and the M1 iMac.

The iPhone 14 and 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 chip joined the repair program in June 2023. The company is now expanding its program to include its recent devices, including all M2-powered Macs. This consists of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, 15-inch Air, Mac Studio, and the new Mac Pro.

Additionally, Apple customers in Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, and Switzerland can now rent repair tools and get repair parts for their iPhones or Macs straight from the company.

Identify which iPhone parts need replacement

To make DIY repairs easier, Apple is introducing Apple Diagnostics for Self Service Repair. It will let you “test devices for optimal part functionality and performance, as well as identify which parts may need repair.” This tool is immediately available in the US and come to Europe next year.

The best part about Apple’s DIY repair program is you can rent the repair tools. You have to make a hefty deposit to the company. However, this is still a great way to get all the required tools for a DIY repair. Alternatively, you can purchase the tools outright as well.

With this expansion, Apple’s Self Service Repair is now the biggest such initiative from a tech giant. While Samsung and Google also offer a self-repair program, they do not cover as many devices and regions as Apple.
