Awesome Apps

Flighty became popular as a flight-tracking app for iPhone, with its snappy alerts and intuitive interface. Now, with watchOS 10, it lands on Apple Watch with critical data and intelligent updates tracking your trip from your wrist.

Flighty app for iOS 17 and watchOS 10

It’s easy to use Flighty on any day you’re taking a flight. It will keep you advised of your flight’s take-off time and any delays. It claims to have the world’s fastest delay tracking.

“No other app automatically monitors and alerts you,” Flighty said, citing late inbound aircraft and airspace mandates as the top two causes of delays, so it built in automatic monitoring 25 hours prior to departure as well as Federal Aviation Administration access for alerts.

At the airport, Flighty will show you your gate, departure time and seat number.

Track on Apple Watch with widgets

Now a glance at your risk can tell you what you need to know about your flight.

And Flighty doesn’t stop there. It also shows you your flight’s progress on both iPhone and Apple Watch. Just like any widget, you can access it on your watch by swiping up or turning the Digital Crown. The app takes advantage of updated watchOS 10 visuals.

What’s more, Flighty also offers a widget you can surface on your screen when you use StandBy mode in iOS 17 on iPhone.

You can download the Flighty app free. A premium subscription is also available.

Apple Design Award

And by the way, the app also won a 2023 Apple Design Award in the Interaction category.

Apple said:

Flighty provides users with detailed flight maps, airport navigation and delay forecasting — all through a beautifully designed app experience. With key information where it’s needed most, an intuitive interface and comprehensive live maps, Flighty makes navigating travel seamless. The app thoughtfully integrates Apple technology, including Siri Shortcuts, Apple Maps, Live Activities and more, to keep travelers covered at every part of the journey.

And now you can add Apple Watch usage to that list.
