Apple is now offering refurbished units of its second-generation full-size HomePod at 17% off the regular price. This new version offers high-quality audio and additional smart-home features

Buying refurbs from Apple is a popular way to save on used electronics that can be relied on.

Apple’s full-size smart speaker returns!

The first-generation HomePod debuted in 2018, and received equal parts praise for its audio quality and criticism for its $349 price. Apple discontinued the product in 2021, but brought out a second-generation model in early 2023.

The new version uses the same general design as the original, but with fewer tweeters and microphones. Apple added several home-automation features, including temperature and humidity sensors as well as Thread support.

Refurb HomePod 2 is a deal

The regular price for HomePod 2 is $299, but Apple is now offering refurbished units at $50 below that.

So far, Apple’s 2023 smart speaker has not gone on sale at all, so this 17% savings is the best deal yet.

It’s no lemon

When someone buys a product from Apple then returns it, it is resold after going through a refurbishment process, as is happening with HomePod 2 now. Apple prepares these so you’re not taking any risk. It’s cleaned and undergoes full functional testing, then gets repackaged with appropriate manuals and cables.

Each unit comes with a one-year warranty and a 14-day return window.
