Lots of folks agonize over choosing a new iPhone color when fresh handsets like the 15 series come out — even Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Or so he said in a brief interview sometime around  iPhone 15’s release Tuesday. But in explaining his choice of Natural Titanium, he managed to praise every available color equally, and even in exactly the same way.

Every iPhone 15 Pro color ‘caught my eye,’ Tim Cook said, but he chose Natural Titanium

The whole iPhone 15 series went on preorder status today, overwhelming Apple. So millions of people are facing the color choice Cook said he struggled with.

Cook’s 24-second outdoor video interview at Apple Park showed up on X with Mandarin subtitles. We picked up on it from a post by @ShishirShelke1, below.

“Do you have a favorite iPhone color?” asked the interviewer.

“You know, I’m using the natural [Titanium],” he replied, fishing what looked like an iPhone 15 Pro Max out of his pants pocket. “I love it, but I tell you it was a hard decision –”

“Of course,” agreed the interviewer, interrupting the Apple CEO.

“– it was a hard decision because the blue really caught my eye, ahhh, the white really caught my eye, the black really caught my eye, so it was hard, but I eventually landed on that.”

“You can have four phones and switch between each one,” the interviewer suggested. After all, Cook can afford it and he’s the boss of Apple.

“Exactly,” Cook replied, chuckling.

Replies to the video post expressed some humor.

“Tim Cook is a supply chain guy,” one said. “I bet the Natural Titanium is also cheaper to produce than the other colors.”

“Makes sense, it’s about as lifeless as Cook himself,” said another.

And another person posted a vid showing someone struggling to choose between identical socks:
