Apple’s 2022 smartwatch is not much different from the 2021 model. It packs the same SiP, design, and battery life. The addition of a temperature sensor is the only notable upgrade, which can be used for cycle tracking. There’s also car crash detection, powered by new accelerometer and gyroscope sensors.
With the Apple Watch Series 9 rumored not to pack any dramatic external changes, go for the Apple Watch Series 8 and save your money. And once watchOS 10 lands in September, the smartwatch will only get better with the addition of widgets and redesigned system apps.
