Accessories maker Nomad offered a new entrant in the multiport-gallium-nitride (GaN)-charger derby Thursday, unveiling its Nomad 130W GaN Power Adapter.

It comes with three USB-C ports and 130 watts of charging power for MacBook, iPad and iPhone.

These days, GaN chargers are coming out left and right with increasing numbers of ports and power. Because GaN allows more components to be reduced in size and packed into a tighter space safely, the chargers are smaller and more potent than older silicon versions.

Nomad’s new charger is no different. It’s sleek and portable. And its dark finishes are a nice break if you’re a little tired of Apple’s white devices.

3 USB-C ports vary in power

The charger features three USB-C ports for charging devices. While plenty of GaN chargers slip a USB-A port in the mix, Nomad skipped that.

The fastest of the three USB-C ports, on top, includes a blue marking. That port offers 130W when used by itself, or 100W when another device is plugged in drawing 30W. When all three are in use, the top slot gives your power-hungry device 70W while the other two ports offer 30W apiece.

The charger charges via built-in prongs that you stick into an electrical outlet. They can be folded down for travel.

The charger comes in carbide gray. Nomad also sells 20W, 30W and 65W versions.
