The wait for a new season of The Morning Show is nearly over. On Thursday, Apple TV+ promised that season 3 of the popular and award-winning drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon will premiere in September.
The highlight of the new season will be the arrival of Jon Hamm in the cast.
The Morning Show season 3 Hamms up the drama
The Morning Show fulfills the Apple TV+ strategy of attracting an audience with top-quality programming. Aniston earned a SAG Award for her performance, Witherspoon was nominated for an Emmy while Billy Crudup won a best supporting actor Emmy.
And the critics’ praise clearly brings in viewers. Earlier this year, it was ranked the third most watched show ever on Apple TV+.
The Morning Show is a workplace drama set at a fictitious morning news program where there’s more going on behind the camera than in front of it. Apple’s preview of the upcoming season 3 says:
“The future of the network is thrown into question and loyalties are pushed to the brink when a tech titan takes an interest in UBA. Unexpected alliances form, private truths are weaponized and everyone is forced to confront their core values both in and out of the newsroom.”
As noted, Jon Hamm will join the cast as the aforementioned tech titan. The actor is best known for starring in Mad Men, but also appeared in Top Gun: Maverick and many other roles.
And the series isn’t going anywhere. Apple TV+ revealed today that the series has already received an early renewal for season 4.
Coming this autumn
The Morning Show season 3 premieres globally on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes. There will be 10 episodes in the season.
Watching comes with a $6.99-per-month subscription to Apple’s video streaming service. That’s a lower price than all of its larger rivals. And there are no commercial interruptions.
The TV+ also includes much more. There are thrillers, comedies, mysteries, children’s shows, nature documentaries, etc.
