The popular farming simulator Stardew Valley will debut on Apple Arcade in July. The award-wining game promises many hours of entertainment, with farming, ranching, fighting monsters and even getting married.

In addition, Apple’s gaming subscription service will also soon add other classic titles, including Ridiculous Fishing EX, Millionaire Trivia+, Slay the Spire+ and more.

Growing Apple Arcade with classic games

One of the ways Apple increases the number of games in its subscription service is by bringing in previously released titles. It calls these App Store Greats, adds a “+” to the name, and then drops the purchase price to $0. Also, any in-app purchases are stripped out. The same goes for ads, loot boxes and invasive player tracking.

Apple lined up five of these for release in the coming weeks.

Build your own farm in Stardew Valley+

Game creator ConcernedApe says Stardew Valley+ is more than a simple farming simulator — the developer calls it a farming role-playing game. And it’s true: Players do a lot more than simply plant and harvest crops and raise farm animals.

The game also includes exploring mysterious caves to search for treasure while fighting off monsters. And there’s fishing, getting married, going on quests. ConcernedApe promises 50-plus hours of gameplay.

Stardew Valley+ hits Apple Arcade on July 21, 2023. There will be versions for iPhone and iPad.

Ridiculous Fishing EX lives up to its name

Fishing is a sport that requires patience. Ridiculous Fishing EX is a game that requires guns, chainsaws and toasters. Players go on a heroic quest for gills and glory in this action title.

The original version debuted in 2010, but Dutch game developer Vlambeer rewrote it from the ground up for Apple Arcade, adding new content and gorgeous 3D art.

Ridiculous Fishing EX launches on Apple Arcade on July 14. There will be versions for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

Plus Millionaire Trivia+, Slay the Spire+ and more

On Friday, June 30, Millionaire Trivia: TV Game+ will debut on Apple’s gaming subscription service. It turns the hit game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire into a game that can be played anywhere.

It will be joined by Slay the Spire+ on July 7. This is a deckbuilding dungeon crawler that challenges players to craft a unique deck to battle bizarre creatures and discover relics of immense power.

In Lego Duplo World+, children aged 2 to 5 can play with animals, buildings and vehicles to inspire their imaginations. It comes with 20 fun-filled play packs. The game reaches Apple Arcade on July 7.

All three of these titles are for iPhone and iPad.

Coming soon to Apple Arcade

Access to all these classic games — and over 200 more — comes with a $4.99-per-month subscription. And one subscription works for up to six family members. As noted, there are never hidden costs in the games. In-app purchases are forbidden.
