Anker’s Soundcore brand offers competitive noise-cancelling wireless earbuds, including Liberty 4, released in fall 2022. Now it plans to roll out its “all-new best noise-cancelling earbuds,” Liberty 4 NC, for a surprisingly low $100 (with an early-bird offer to pay just $80).

And the new buds claim an impressive 60 hours of battery life, too. Top features and low pricing like that might make Apple nervous over its AirPods line of earbuds.

Soundcore Liberty 4 NC wireless ANC earbuds

Soundcore is pushing stellar noise cancellation as the new Liberty 4 NC earbuds‘ primary selling point. The company claims Liberty 4 NC reduces ambient sound through active noise cancellation (ANC) by up to 98.5% using a high-sensitivity in-ear sound sensor, an oversized driver (11mm) and a noise-isolation chamber in each bud.

Soundcore describes its “Adaptive ANC 2.0” this way:

Adaptive ANC 2.0 analyzes external and internal noises via in-ear and external sound sensors, with an additional 512-order FIR filter to effectively remove unwanted noises in real-time, for more precise and instantaneous noise cancelling.

Generally speaking, the 11mm custom-tuned drivers should deliver crisp, detailed sound with adequate bass response. In addition, included LDAC codec technology enables hi-res audio for Android devices, delivering data at about three times the rate of regular Bluetooth, Soundcore said.

Epic battery life and in-ear sensing

Soundcore’s new earbuds claim 60 hours of battery life — 10 with the buds alone and an additional 50 using the wireless charging case. That’s impressive, though the company didn’t specify if those numbers reflect battery life with ANC turned on or off (probably off).

Like the existing Liberty 4 buds, the new ones will feature in-ear sensing so they pause when you take one out of your ear.

But they don’t have everything. Liberty 4 NC appears to lack Liberty 4’s inclusion of spatial audio and heart-rate tracking, two premium features that made the $130 earbuds especially attractive as AirPods Pro competitors.

Early-bird pricing offer

Liberty 4 NC earbuds become available in five colors for regular ordering on June 29 and ship July 30.

But you can place an early-bird order through July 10 to knock the price down from $99.99 to $79.99 at Soundcore or on Amazon (though they don’t appear to be listed on Amazon yet). Early orders also include a Soundcore luggage tag and the Soundcore Care earbuds-replacement service.
