Edifier W820NB Plus Hi-Res Audio Headphones

The new W820NB Plus amount to an update of the top-selling W820NB headphones, Edifer said. The new cans add support for LDAC coding and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification.

They feature 40mm dynamic drivers with a titanium-coated composite diaphragm for audio clarity and up to 49 hours of playtime.

The headphones issue a high-frequency bandwidth of up to 40kHz. LDAC codec technology enables a transmission bandwidth of up to 990kbps, which the company compared to “a highway in wireless protocol.”

“This ensures that high-bit-rate audio files are transmitted with great protection, retaining about three times the amount of music detail and delivering nearly lossless, natural and full sound,” Edifier said.

Long battery life

Edifier credited the headphones’ high capacity battery and energy-saving Bluetooth chip for the stated 49 hours of “non-stop playtime.” The company added that 10 minutes of charging results in 7 hours of music playback.

Listeners can use the Edifier Connect App to tailor their sound. They can customize settings such as power display, EQ selection, shutdown timer, prompt volume and soothing sounds.

Hybrid ANC

Hybrid ANC cuts 43dB of background noise while ambient mode lets some back in when you want to hear your surroundings.

The headphones’ hybrid ANC can cancel up to 43 decibels of background noise and also improve voice calls, according to Edifier:

Moreover, these headphones use advanced deep neural network call noise reduction technology, ensuring clear voice calls by accurately capturing the human voice and filtering out unwanted sounds. Business or personal calls can be made and taken with the confidence that call quality is guaranteed.

An ambient sound mode allows some background noise to come through. A low-latency game mode keeps sounds synchronized during gaming.

  • Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified
  • ANC with ambient mode
  • DNN noise cancellation for clear calls
  • Up to 49 hours of continuous playback without ANC
  • 0.08 seconds’ low latency performance for gaming

  • Choice of gray, green, blue, ivory or black colors

You can pick up the W820NB Plus for $79.99 on Amazon and Edifier-online.com. And the perfectly good older version is marked down to $59.49 on Amazon.
