Skullcandy unveiled its latest over-ear headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC) Tuesday — the updated Crusher ANC 2 Sensory Bass Headphones.

And the company’s serious enough about the low end to include a dedicated wheel on the left ear cup so you can crank the bass. That’s in addition to other customization options as well as an impressive feature set for cans that cost $229.99.

The physical bass control — called Adjustable Sensory Bass — is probably the most distinctive feature of Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2. But the headphones’ overall feature list is impressive. And the price since the last Crusher version came out has dropped a bit.

“This latest generation of Crusher gives fans the bass response they loved in its predecessors, with the added feature of Active Noise Canceling,” said Jason Luthman, Skullcandy’s director of Global Product Management.

“We have been refining and improving the Crusher Technology for over a decade now and Crusher ANC 2 is our seventh iteration in the family,” he continued. “For those looking for a premium headphone, the all-new Crusher ANC 2 has it all and will no doubt deliver the world-class listening experience they crave, while layering on robust, in-demand features at a ridiculously good value.”

The newest Crusher set adds not only ANC, but also upgradeable features and hands-free control, in addition to larger ear cups, an asymmetric yoke and a notch in the headband for more comfort.

They boast up to 60 hours of battery life, fast charging and customizable EQ modes. The headphones fold flat and come with a durable travel case.

Individual customization

Skullcandy said you can personalize its haptic bass response in three different ways:

  1. Rotate the adjustment wheel on the left ear cup.
  2. Use the hands-free voice command “Hey Skullcandy, More Crusher.”
  3. Create bass preferences directly on the Skull-iQ app.

Adjustable four-mic ANC detects and cancels noise. And with these new Crushers, you can customize and refine it. You can also set up a Personal Sound Profile to tune Crusher ANC 2 via a hearing test on the app.

Feature set:

  • Up to 60 hours of battery life (ANC off), 50 hours with ANC on.
  • Rapid charge – 10 minutes of charging gives you up to 4 hours of playtime.
  • Adjustable Sensory Bass for — here comes the slogan — ‘Music You Can Feel.’
