Apple is now offering a free, month-long trial of MLS Season Pass, its subscription service that shows all the matches from the top professional soccer league in the United States.

The deal is available for both new and returning customers.

MLS Season Pass for free… for a month, anyway

The MLS Season Pass kicked off in February, and Apple promises it’s “an unprecedented subscription service to fans in over 100 countries and regions that features every live MLS regular-season match, the entire playoffs, and the League Cup, all with no blackouts.”

Ordinarily, subscriptions to the soccer-streaming service are $14.99 per month during the season or $99 per season. Or Apple TV+ subscribers can sign up for $12.99 per month or $79 per season.

But in a move clearly intended to bring in more viewers, Apple is now offering a one-month free trial of MLS Season Pass.

There’s an important caveat, though. The free trial is just that: a trial. New and returning subscribers can get a free month, but Apple is not offering the service free for a month to current subscribers.

The deal can be used any time between now and October 31, 2023. That’s past the end of the regular MLS season and into the playoffs.

Doesn’t require an Apple device

While MLS Season Pass is from Apple, it’s not part of the Apple TV+ streaming service. It’s a separate subscription, though it TV+ subscribers get a discount.

And enjoying the soccer action doesn’t require an Apple TV, Mac or other Apple device. The service is watchable on a broad variety of devices, including Windows, Roku and Amazon Fire. That includes Android, too.
