Apple reports that the App Store is has a problem that might prevent users from buying applications. That includes the iOS and Mac App Stores. And the same issue could affect attempts to buy ebooks.

A similar problem is causing problems with buying subscriptions.

UPDATE: Fixed after about 14 hours.

Not just you: App Store temporarily has problems

A check of Apple’s official System Status page shows the App Store is now listed with a yellow diamond, indicating that it’s having issues. The detailed description notes that, “Users may be unable to make purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, Mac App Store, or Apple Books.”

The trouble doesn’t seem to be affecting the downloading of free software.

And Apple’s Subscription Purchase feature is also suffering from a technical glitch. The description says, “Users may be experiencing intermittent issues with this service.”

The problems have been going on for almost six hours at the time of this writing.

This aerticle will be updated when the issues are resolved.
