Soundcore unveiled its elegant new Motion X600 Portable High Fidelity Speaker Monday. The compact speaker offers hi-res, spatial audio in a handsome package with a metal grille and a choice of gray, green or blue colors.

When it becomes available in early May, it’ll go for $200. But you can get an early-bird discount. See below.

To offer high-quality sound, the Motion X600 uses five drivers, including two woofers, two tweeters and one upwards-firing driver.

The speaker array, combined with Soundcore’s audio algorithm and digital signal processor, “helps create a wide (and tall) soundstage for listening to any type of music, whether at home or on the go,” Soundcore said.

The new speaker is the brand’s first to accept and decode Hi-Res LDAC sources (Android only).

“With the leading streaming platforms now supporting high-fidelity and spatial audio, the Motion X600 is the most refined speaker Soundcore has ever introduced,” said Frank Zhu, general manager of the company’s Speaker division.

“We’ve focused the design on creating a wide (and tall) stereo image, allowing consumers to experience high-res and spatial audio tracks from Spotify, Apple Music and other popular music services,” he added.

The 50-watt Motion X600 brings enough power through three amps — left at 20W, right at 20W and “Sky Channel” at 10W — to fill a room with sound.

Customization options

And you can customize that sound with a 9-band custom EQ in the Soundcore app. A button activates spatial audio. And for a wider soundstage, you can pair two of the speakers.

With its 6,400mAh internal battery, the Motion X600 provides up to 12 hours of playtime at 50% volume, Soundcore said.

Availability and pricing

Soundcore said the Motion X600 goes on sale May 6 for $199.99 in the US on Amazon.com, soundcore.com and other retailers. The Motion X600 will also be available for pre-order for $149.99 during an Early Bird Pre-Sale on soundcore’s website.
