At the discounted price, it is hard to beat the value for money the M1 MacBook Air provides.

M1 MacBook Air is old but powerful

Apple’s 2020 MacBook Air looks the same as the Intel variant it replaced. However, it sports massive internal changes that transform it into a different machine altogether.

Thanks to the M1 chip, Apple claims the 2020 MacBook Air is up to 3.5x faster in most scenarios over the Intel-powered Air. The performance boost is even more significant in ML (machine learning) tasks, with Apple claiming a 9x improvement.

Below is what Cult of Mac‘s Leander Kahney said in his M1 MacBook Air review about the machine’s performance:

I just opened more than 650 tabs in Safari on a new M1 MacBook Air. I would have opened more, but I got bored.

Apple launched the M2 MacBook Air in 2022 with a faster chip and a redesigned chassis. While the new Air looks much more modern than the 2020 model, it is also more expensive by $200. This is why the Cupertino company continues selling the M1 MacBook Air for $999.

Save 20% on the M1 MacBook Air

The M1 MacBook Air is already the cheapest MacBook in Apple’s lineup at $999. But with a $199 discount on Amazon, it becomes an even better deal, and you can get your hands on it for just $799.99.

You can score 20% off on the M1 MacBook Air in all three shades: silver, space gray, and gold. The base model comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, which is good enough for basic use. For more demanding workloads, consider upgrading to 16GB RAM.
