Apple’s M2 MacBook Air provides terrific value for money. And with a massive $199 discount that Amazon is offering on the machine, it is an even better deal.

While the M2 MacBook Air is frequently on discount, this is the lowest price its 512GB configuration has hit so far.

M2 MacBook Air packs a punch

Apple’s 2022 MacBook Air features a redesigned chassis that is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor. The machine also houses a bigger 13.6-inch Retina display. You don’t get 120Hz ProMotion support, but this is still an excellent panel for almost all users.

While the M2 MacBook Air continues to feature two USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports, Apple added a dedicated MagSafe 3 port for charging. With a 67W adapter, you can fast charge the machine to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Despite its slim and svelte looks, the 2022 MacBook Air packs a punch. This is thanks to the M2 chip, which Apple says is about 18% faster than its predecessor. Its 10-core GPU is about 35% faster. And there’s also a 40% more powerful Neural Engine than in the M1 model.

Save $199 on the 512GB M2 MacBook Air

Apple asks $1,499 for the M2 MacBook Air with 512GB storage. But you can get the same configuration on Amazon for $1,299.99 right now, saving $199. This is just $100 more than the entry-level 256GB M2 Air, making it a stellar deal.

Unlike the 256GB configuration, Apple uses two parallel NAND chips on the 512GB M2 MacBook Air. This ensures that the SSD’s read/write speeds are as fast or faster than the M1 Air. This is also the reason you should avoid buying the base model M2 MacBook Air.

The only catch is that the machine is available only in silver and starlight colors. If you want the space gray or midnight shade, you’ll have to buy the MacBook Air at its full price.
