Continuity Camera in macOS Ventura upgrades video calls by bringing the iPhone’s high-res camera to the Mac. It’s necessary to mount the iPhone on the computer though, but Belkin has just what’s needed for desktop Macs.

The accessory-maker released a very similar iPhone mount designed for MacBooks this fall.

Make iPhone into a Mac webcam with Continuity Camera and new Belkin mount

While MacBooks have built-in front-facing cameras, desktop Macs need a webcam. But iPhones include brilliant cameras, and Apple dreamed up Continuity Camera to let Mac users take advantage of a piece of equipment they already own. The feature of macOS Ventura transforms an iPhone into a webcam.

Webcams are mounted on the Mac’s monitor so the user is looking toward the person they’re FaceTiming. When using Continuity Camera, that’s necessary for the iPhone too. That’s where the Belkin iPhone Mount (MagSafe Compatible) for Mac Desktops comes in.

The accessory attaches to a Mac monitor, then the iPhone magnetically clings to the mount. The handset can be rotated between portrait and landscape, and the viewing angle can be adjusted from vertical to 25 degrees downward.

The mount is also compatible with a quarter-inch tripod screw.
