Accessories maker Meross now allows you to order one of the first smart plugs designed for the new Matter smart home wireless networking standard.

And not only that. The plug, which the company said will ship on December 31, appears to be one of the first smart gadgets to sport the Matter logo.

And right now you can get it for 30% off in a launch discount.

New Meross smart plug among first to support Matter (that you can order now)

The new Meross Matter Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini (MSS115) works with Matter out of the box, the company told TheVerge. You can order it now and it will ship on December 31.

Matter support means it will work with other Matter-supporting devices on Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings. The smart-home networking standard finally launched in October after several delays.

TheVerge points out that while some existing products are rolling out firmware updates with Matter support, most companies say their devices that have it built-in won’t roll out until next year.

Setup should be simple. “Scan the code, and all is done,” Meross said on its product page. “The standard and simple protocol make it easier to implement and use Matter devices.”

The smart plug comes in a 2-pack. A 50% launch discount has sold out available inventory, but the regular $49.99 price is reduced to $34.99 for the second batch at 30% off, the company said.

Price: $34.99
