Battery life is an important consideration in any handset, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max solidly outlasts two Android flagship devices in a real world battery test. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Google Pixel 7 weren’t even close.

iPhone 14 Pro Max offers longer battery life that rival Android flagships

The best phone is the world is useless once the battery goes flat. Choosing one with a lengthy time between charges is important. Apple gives estimates for the battery life of its models, but some real-world testing is always helpful.

PhoneBuff tests devices with a robotic arm and one-hour sessions in a variety of applications, including the phone and messaging app plus web browsing and navigation.

When equivalent tests were done to the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Galaxy S22 Ultra, Apple’s handset still had a 25% charge when the Android went dead. This despite Samsung building in a larger battery.

Now for Google’s latest.

“While the Pixel couldn’t outlast the iPhone, it did manage to last 25 minutes longer than Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra in the same test,” said David Rahimi from PhoneBuff.

The latest iOS model also has a smaller battery than this Android model, but during testing its battery level was at 21% when the Google handset ran flat and shut itself off.
