M2 MacBook Air is slim and powerful

Apple’s slim and svelte M2 MacBook Air features a redesigned chassis that’s slimmer and lighter than the M1 model. The design language is now similar to the 2021 MacBook Pros, though in a smaller form factor.

Unlike the Pro models, you don’t get a dedicated HDMI or SD card slot. But the new M2 MacBook Air ships with a MagSafe port and supports fast charging. So, you can top up the battery to 50% in just 30 minutes when you charge the machine using a 67W or higher power adapter.

All M2 MacBook Air reviews have unanimously praised the machine for its beautiful new design and fast performance. Ticking inside the 2022 MacBook Air is Apple’s M2 chip, which brings an 18% faster CPU performance and a 40% faster Neural Engine.

Note that the MacBook Air has a fanless design, so it cannot handle sustained workloads. The lack of active cooling means the machine throttles quickly under heavy load.

Save up to $150 on refurbished M2 MacBook Air

Apple’s Certified Refurbished store in the US currently has 256GB and 512GB configurations of the M2 MacBook Air on sale. You can get the entry-level model with 8-core GPU and 8GB RAM for $1,079, down from $1,199. That’s a saving of $120, and you still get a brand new-like product.

If you want more storage, the 512B variant is available with a bigger $150 discount. You can grab it for $1,349 instead of $1,499. That’s a decent saving, but you can get a new retail unit at the same price from Amazon. You can keep checking Apple’s refurbished store weekly if the configuration you want is not in stock.

The M2 MacBook Pro, which was announced alongside the M2 MacBook Air, went up for sale on Apple’s refurbished store in late September. Certified refurbished products from Apple carry a one-year warranty. You can further extend the warranty coverage by up to three years using AppleCare+.
