M2 MacBook Pro packs a faster chip in an old design
Apple first updated the entry-level MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon in late 2020. It is also among the first Macs in the company’s lineup to switch to the faster and more efficient M2 chip this year.
Unlike the 2021 MacBook Pros though, the M2 MacBook Pro retains the same design as its predecessor. This means there’s no HDMI, MagSafe, or SD card slot. The display also continues to have relatively big bezels surrounding it. On the plus side, if you are a fan of the Touch Bar, the M2 MacBook Pro is your only option.

The M2 chip powering the machine provides 18% faster CPU performance, a 35% more powerful GPU and a 40% faster Neural Engine. You can configure the M2 MacBook Pro with up to 24GB RAM—that’s 8GB more than before.
Another highlight of the M2 MacBook Pro is its stellar battery life. Apple claims the machine can provide up to 20 hours of video playback in one go. That’s more than enough to last a long-haul flight.
Save $150 on the M2 MacBook Pro
Apple sells the entry-level M2 MacBook Pro with 256GB storage for $1,299. You can get the model on Amazon for $1,149, saving $150. This deal is only applicable to the silver shade, though.
If you want more storage, the 512GB configuration in silver is available with a $100 discount. So, you can grab one for $1,399 instead of $1,499. This variant has been discounted by $200 before, but if you need an M2 MacBook Pro right away, this is as good a deal as it gets.
