Nomad’s refined and costly Base One and Base One Max MagSafe chargers are widely considered to be of excellent quality,  even “high-end” status. But now you can feel even more like a king — maybe King Midas — by snagging one with a rich golden hue.

That’s right, Nomad just rolled out golden gear for you, the Gold Base One and Base One Max.

Nomad offers Base One and Base One Max MagSafe chargers in new gold color

The color of Nomad’s special edition is “inspired by the sandy beaches of Santa Barbara.” The golden tint adds a fancy touch to what were already pretty fancy chargers, originalyl available in carbide gray and silver colors.

Cult of Mac called the Base One “the prettiest and priciest MagSafe charger yet.” It charges an iPhone via a 15W MagSafe coil but cost $130 when released, compared to Apple’s $40 puck.

Then the Base One Max came along, adding Apple Watch charging at a price of $150.

A bit like a MacBook Air in Starlight

Nomad noted its design team debated many choices before settling on the light-gold color for the new editions. As it happens, it looks somewhat like Apple’s new Starlight MacBook Air.

The two chargers are heavily weighted to stay put when you pluck your iPhone off of the surface. The MFi-certified MagSafe puck is white, as it is on the previous versions.
