Redesigned MacBook Pro is significantly faster than the Intel model
Apple announced the redesigned 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips in late 2021. It brings a significant step up in performance and efficiency from the previous Intel-based model.
Apple claims the new MacBook Pro is up to 2x faster than the 16-inch Intel MacBook Pro in many pro workflows. Machine learning performance is up to 5x faster thanks to the 16-core Neural Engine. Despite the massive performance improvements, the 2021 MacBook Pro is rated to last for up to 21 hours on battery.
The redesigned chassis has a more squared-off design, with Apple bringing back the HDMI port and MagSafe 3 for charging. The latter allows you to top up the MacBook Pro’s battery to 50% in just 30 minutes.
