Tuesday’s release of the Eve Outdoor Cam makes Eve Systems the first manufacturer to offer an outdoor camera designed to support HomeKit Secure Video.

Eve launches first outdoor camera designed for HomeKit Secure Video

First introduced at CES 2022, the Eve Outdoor Cam is a floodlight camera. Its black metal frame encases white glass around the light. It features a 1080p camera with a 157-degree field of view. You can mount it on a wall with a three-axis hinge. It has IP55 water and dust resistance.

The camera can see in the dark with the help of integrated infrared night vision that works up to 26 feet away. The camera supports two-way communication through a built-in microphone and speaker.

‌HomeKit Secure Video‌ capabilities come with iCloud+, priced starting at $0.99 per month. With ‌HomeKit Secure Video‌ support, the Eve Outdoor Cam can save 10 days of video. And footage is fully encrypted whether you view the footage locally or remotely using a home hub.

Useful AI detection features are also in the mix, so users can receive notifications when motion is detected. Specifically, HomeKit Secure Video-enabled camera can detect and issue alerts about people, animals, vehicles and package deliveries.

At $0.99 per month, the 50GB ‌iCloud‌ plan supports one ‌HomeKit Secure Video‌ camera. The 200GB plan priced at $2.99 per month supports up to five. With the highest-end 2TB ‌iCloud‌ plan priced at $9.99 per month, you can use an unlimited number of ‌HomeKit Secure Video‌ cameras. Footage stored from a ‌HomeKit Secure Video‌ camera does not count against ‌iCloud‌ storage limits.

Price: $249.95
