Apple TV+ schedules summer slate of content for kids and families

Apple TV+ laid out a full slate of summer content for kids and families. The service describes the first show to air, Duck & Goose, set to premiere July 8, as a “endearing animated series based on The New York Times bestselling books by Tad Hills.”

A live-action series called Best Foot Forward is based on the real-life story of Josh Sundquist, a Paralympic athlete, author and motivational speaker. It  debuts on July 22.

And on July 29, Apple TV+ will premiere Amber Brown, which stars Carsyn Rose and Sarah Drew. It’s based on a best-selling book series by Paula Danziger.

Later in the summer, kids and families can check out Surfside Girls, a series based on the IDW graphic novels by Kim Dwinell. And then there’s Life By Ella, a show Apple TV+ said is “the story of a young girl as she takes a new outlook on life into a world that seems determined to break it down.”

Hello Jack! The Kindness Show special and original shorts

Additionally, Apple will release a new special and four original shorts of its fan favorite series Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show on June 24.

In the special — created by Emmy Award nominee Jack McBrayer and Daytime Emmy Award winner Angela C. Santomero — Jack and his friends set out to solve a kindness mystery.

The four shorts feature Jack’s interviews with real kids about their extraordinary acts of kindness, declaring them official Kindness Ambassadors in their own hometowns.

Catch a raft of new and classic Peanuts specials

On August 12, Apple will debut a new Peanuts family special called Lucy’s School.

Apple TV+ described it this way:

The Peanuts gang are anxious about starting at a new school in the Fall, inspiring Lucy to start her own school instead — but teaching isn’t as easy as it sounds. Lucy’s School is a love letter to teachers and an appreciation of what makes teaching such a noble and fulfilling profession. It explores the fear of change, and shows Lucy facing and overcoming her fears with the support of her friends. Produced for Apple TV+ by Peanuts and WildBrain, the special is directed by Raymond S. Persi (It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown).

This summer, The Snoopy Show also returns with new episodes, alongside classic Peanuts titles from Mendelson/Melendez Productions making their platform debut on August 5.

They include:

  • A Charlie Brown Celebration
  • He’s A Bully, Charlie Brown
  • He’s Your Dog, Charlie Brown
  • It Was A Short Summer, Charlie Brown
  • It’s Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown
  • There’s No Time For Love, Charlie Brown
