Gear4, an accessories brand owned by Zagg, just added two nylon Apple Watch bands to its lineup. One is a braided nylon band priced at half the cost of Apple’s popular Solo Loop. The other is a two-tone sport band with Velcro. Both are made with recycled materials.
Hard to say if the quality meets Apple’s, but the prices certainly beat Apple’s.
Gear4 braided nylon Apple Watch band
Gear4 has expanded its Apple accessories to cover Apple Watch, releasing two styles of nylon strap. The company designed each of the models for all seven generations of Apple Watch. The braided version comes in small, medium and large sizes paired with Apple Watch sizes: 41/40/38mm and 45/44/42mm. The sport version is one size for either of the two watch sizes.
The Gear4 Braided Apple Watch band is clearly inspired by Apple’s Solo Loop, which it closely resembles. The new woven band comes in four colors. Three are solid, in Navy Blue, Forest Green and Wine Red, and one is a mult-shades-of-gray design called Storm.
Probably the most remarkable aspect of the new band is the price. At $49.99, it costs half the price of Apple’s version. One drawback is that Gear4’s version comes in just three styles in two sizes, while Apple offers a greater variety of styles and sizes. So you might not get quite as much of a custom fit as you could with the official option.

Gear4 Sport Apple Watch bands
The second of the two new nylon Gear4 Apple Watch bands is a sport version with Velcro fastening. It comes in five two-tone color styles and closely resembles Apple’s Nylon Sport bands. Gear4’s bands feature an adjustable Velcro strap paired with color-matched Apple Watch lugs. Gear4 Sport Watch Bands cost $39.99 each.
Aside from affordability, another selling point for both of the Gear4 Apple Watch bands what they’re made of. Gear4 uses post-consumer recycled materials, though the company doesn’t specify how much of them is in each band.
