If you care about environmental causes, Apple just gave you a pretty painless way to give. Starting Thursday and running through Earth Day on April 22, Apple will donate $1 to the World Wildlife Fund for every Apple Pay transaction in Apple stores, on the store app or on Apple.com.

So start buying stuff and join the fight to save the planet’s beleaguered species.

Apple Pay transactions donate $1 to World Wildlife Fun now through Earth Day

Around Earth Day each year, Apple promotes its conservation and green energy efforts and offers donations to certain causes. In 2022, Apple will donate $1 for every Apple Pay transaction performed through its physical or online stores from April 14 through April 22 (Earth Day) to WWF. In other years, charities varied.

Apple has partnered with WWF before. Their first collaboration was a 2015 project that managed 1 million acres of forest in China. The following year, Apple raised more than $8 million through App Store promotions and donated it to the fund. And in 2017, the $1 per Apple Pay promotion to benefit WWF was again in place.

On or about Earth Day, as it does every year, Apple will probably share its environmental report. Cupertino also often turns the Apple logo’s leaf green at Apple retail stores for the day, too.

In addition to the WWF donations, Apple celebrates Earth Day this year with an Activity Challenge. On April 22, users can do any workout for 30 minutes or longer to earn a special badge in the fitness app.

And in related news, Apple TV+ premieres a new Peanuts special for Earth Day on Friday.
