Refurbished versions of the newest MacBook Pro models are now available to purchase from the Apple Store online. Both 14- and 16-inch units are available with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, and customers can save up to $350.

This is the first time refurbs of these machines have been made available by Apple since they made their debut last year. But if it’s a bargain you’re after, you’re likely to find a better deal elsewhere.

New MacBook Pro refurbs available now

Apple’s latest MacBook Pro lineup is by far its most impressive to date. It combines a sleek new design with mini-LED displays and some of the fastest, most mind-blowing chipsets Cupertino has ever put inside a Mac.

Of course, you have to pay a pretty penny to get your hands on one. But they’re now slightly cheaper when you buy them refurbished.

Save up to $350 on a MacBook Pro refurb

Apple has a range of refurbished 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro units on offer. Prices start at $1,799 (down from $1,999) for the smallest of the two, and for that you get an M1 Pro chipset, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.

It’s not yet possible to buy a 14-inch refurb with an M1 Max chip. However, Apple does have 16-inch models with M1 Max on offer from $3,149 (down from $3,499). A 16-inch M1 Pro model is $2,249 (down from $2,499).

As is always the case with Apple refurbs, stock levels fluctuate over time, and there’s no telling when they will be replenished once they’re sold out. If you see a model you’re interested in, it’s a good idea to bag it before it’s gone.

Shop around for better deals

Apple’s refurbished devices look and feel brand-new. They’re ship in new packaging with new accessories, and they’re covered by the same 12-month warranty you would normally expect from new Apple products.

However, it’s still a good idea to shop around, since you can often find better deals from third-party retailers. For instance, a brand-new 14-inch MacBook Pro is $1,799 on Amazon right now — the same price as Apple’s refurb.
