Aqara G2H Pro camera

The updated G2H Pro actually launched in December, but only in China. It looks like the older G2H, but it includes some new inner works and features.

Like the G2H, the new model supports HomeKit Secure Video for its 1080p camera. But the new camera also surfaces an alarm to the Home app and supports all four security system modes.

The G2H Pro includes a new, wider field of view. It expands the older camera’s 140-degree field to 160 degrees. And while the older camera could act as a hub with 64 “child” devices connected, the new one works with up to 128 child devices.

Aqara said a planned update will enable the G2H Pro to support a local SMB NAS device. That will let you to work  for more versatile storage outside of HomeKit. And if you use the Aqara app, you can use new masking and privacy options with the G2H Pro.

Aqara’s new camera also supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The camera is available no for $69.99. At launch, users in the US and Canada can save 15 percent on Amazon with promo code G2HPROPR.
