In the market for a smart door lock that works with Apple’s HomeKit automation system as well as Home Keys you can keep in the Wallet app? Look no further than the new Aqara Smart Door Lock A100 Zigbee.
It features support for leading home automation protocols and advanced authentication tech, the company said Monday. Trouble is, you can only get it in Malaysia and Singapore so far, with other countries coming soon.
But U.S. availability? As yet unknown.
Aqara Smart Door Lock A100 Zigbee
Smart home products provider Aqara rolled out its new Smart Door Lock A100 Zigbee on Monday. It boasts advanced authentication technologies and support for leading home automation protocols. If you’re an Apple use, you can connect it to HomeKit and Home Keys in the Wallet app.
In addition to its modern technology, the A100 Zigbee features a modern and elegant design. It supports both Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant, so you can ask Siri or Google’s virtual assistant to unlock the door or check the lock.
But what’s more, the smart lock works with Home Key, an NFC-based feature introduced in iOS 15 that allows you to unlock a door by placing your iPhone or Apple Watch near the lock. And you can secure your keys in the Wallet app with Face ID, Touch ID or a password.
In addition, other features increase the A100 Zigbee lock’s security. Those include an auto-lock function after the door is closed, an anti-peep touchpad, an open-door alert and built-in 18-month battery life. And you can use an optional 3D fingerprint scanner if you like.
You can also set up one-time or occasional passwords for family members, guests, and service providers to use at specific days and times.
To use the smart lock, you need a Zigbee 3.0 Aqara hub.
As noted, the Aqara A100 Zigbee launches first in Malaysia and Singapore, then in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Russia later this year. U.S. availability and prices have not been announced.
