If you’d like to improve your experience using HomeKit-enabled accessories on iOS, it might be time to try Home Widget for HomeKit. It already provides quick access to the Home app from your Home Screen, and it got a refresh on Wednesday, adding sensor support, different panel sizes and more.

HomeWidget for HomeKit updates

Home Widget for HomeKit‘s Version 1.1.0 adds support for sensors, letting you add them to your widget panels. In addition, a tweaked design for the widgets interface makes for a better fit with the iOS 15 design. And different panel sizes are now at users’ fingertips.

So to specify, widget panel configurations can now be 1×1, 3×1, 4×2, 3×3 or 4×4. The iPad also allows options for 3×6 or 4×8.

In another nice change, the update allows you to run shortcuts directly from widgets, so you don’t have to open the app first.

And when editing a widget panel, users can better organize it with empty spaces. Plus, a new search field to help you find specific icons for your widgets.

And Wednesday’s update isn’t just about new features. It also improves VoiceOver support and includes bug fixes.

Price: free version; 49 cents per month for some features; $8.99 for lifetime license
