CalDigit said Tuesday its newly released Thunderbolt Station 4 dock for MacBook Pro sports 18 ports — the most ever on a Thunderbolt 4 dock. The company said it’s also the only TB4 dock with 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet as well as 98W of charging power.
CalDigit Thunderbolt Station 4 dock
CalDigit’s new dock has three Thunderbolt 4 ports. One of those offers up to 98W of pass-through charging to compatible Macs, including the newest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
The dock features hree USB-C ports (3.2 Gen 2), five USB-A ports (3.2 Gen 2), SD and microSD card slots (UHS-II), one DisplayPort 1.4 port, one 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, an audio in jack, an audio out jack and a combo audio in/out jack.
You’ll find the dock works with Macs and iPads featuring Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C ports, though some functionality may be limited depending on which device you use.
Useful even though the new MacBooks have more built-in ports
Even though the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models brought back several ports, the dock’s many ports expands connectivity even further. And the dock can serve as a hub for connecting external displays, microphones, speakers and more.
You can order the dock, priced at $359.95 in the United States, through CalDigit’s online store starting Tuesday.
