In a first look at season 2 of the political thriller Tehran, Apple TV+ put out a photograph showing the series’ new cast member, Emmy Award-winner Glenn Close. And the streaming service said the first episode will premiere on May 6.
Tehran season 2
In season two of Tehran, the fraught story of a Mossad agent (Niv Sultan) continues to unfold. She “goes deep undercover on a dangerous mission in Tehran that places her and everyone around her in dire jeopardy,” Apple TV+ said.
And Sultan isn’t the only familiar face. Other returning cast members include Shaun Toub and Shervin Alenabi. But as far as new faces go, season 2 sees the addition of two-time Emmy Award and three-time Golden Globe winner Glenn Close to the cast.
The series is critically acclaimed. Cult of Mac writer Scout Tafoya’s review of Tehran in season 1 called it “the streaming service’s best dramatic show by a mile, it delivers stunning displays of intrigue and backstabbing.” He even raved about the music: “The Tehran theme song by Mark Eliyahu is a stunning earworm. I haven’t stopped humming it all week.”
Other credits and how to watch
Fauda writer Moshe Zonder created the show, along with Dana Eden and Maor Kohn. Daniel Syrkin serves as director. Omri Shenhar serves as writer alongside Zonder. Syrkin and Shenhar are also co-creators.
The show premieres the second season’s first two episodes on May 6, with subsequent new episodes airing on Fridays.
You can watch the first season of Tehran and, when it premieres, on Apple TV+. The streaming services is available by subscription for $4.99 per month or via any tier of the Apple One subscription bundle.
