Belkin rolled out an official, Apple-certified MagSafe iPhone charger this week — the Belkin Boost Charge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe. And it bets you’ll pay more for it than you would for Apple’s own MagSafe charging puck.

Why would you pay more? For two reasons. And no, the extra-long product name is not one of them.

Belkin Boost Charge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe

Reason #1: a cool little kickstand

Using official MagSafe components, Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe delivers up to 15W of wireless power to any supported iPhone (currently the 12 and 13 series handsets).

But rather than stopping there, Belkin added a pop-up stand that holds your iPhone as it charges. That’s the first reason you might pony up more cash for it.

Reason #2: twice the cable length

The second reason? The new charger has a longer cable than Apple’s product. Cupertino’s MagSafe charging puck stretches one meter. Belkin’s cable doubles that length to two meters. And Belkin reinforced the cable with nylon for better durability.

As Belkin puts it:

This portable wireless charger pad was engineered with official MagSafe technology to deliver fast wireless charging up to 15W for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12, and allows you to keep using your phone while it charges thanks to a thoughtfully designed pop-up stand and an extra-long cable. The magnetic attachment ensures perfect, snap on alignment every time, while a slim, lightweight design makes this charger perfect for travel.

But, as mentioned, the longer, tougher cable and kickstand don’t come particularly cheap. The new Portable Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe comes in black or white and goes for $59.99 — $20 more than the typical price for Apple’s MagSafe charging puck.

Price: $59.99
