Building on other versions of ANC earbuds released in 2021, Belkin rolled out its new SoundForm Immerse Noise Cancelling Earbuds in Las Vegas this week — and they promptly became a CES Innovation Award 2022 Honoree.

The new buds challenge aging champ AirPods Pro, due for a revamp, not only with hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) with Hear-Thru mode, but they work with Apple’s vast Find My network. And they flaunt a number of premium features.

Belkin introduced other products at CES, too, of course.

ANC with Hear-Thru; 3 microphones per bud

Belkin’s new buds feature a hybrid ANC with a Hear-Thru mode to let you hear external sounds you don’t want to miss, like Apple’s Transparency mode. Belkin does it through a trio of microphones and dual beamforming, helping to cancel ambient noise while also better capturing your voice for calls.

aptX HD codec support

Inside each bud is a 12mm, dual-layer dynamic driver with a neodymium magnet with support for the aptX HD 24-bit audio codec — meaning higher-than-average potential for the high-fidelity sound would-be audiophiles want.

Dedicated app

You can also personalize the sound using the SoundForm app, which lets you adjust the EQ and the Hear-Thru levels. Not all earbuds even have a dedicated app. Instead, many low- and mid-priced buds rely exclusively on touch controls.

Fast device pairing and switching plus Find My

The buds also feature multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, so you can quickly switch between devices you use as sound sources. Google Fast Pair support enables the earbuds to quickly work with Android smartphones.

iPhone users find an extra benefit to Belkin’s buds in the wireless charging case, which includes support for Apple’s extensive Find My network. In addition, you can looks for a lost earbud using the SoundForm app’s Ping My Earbuds feature.

Boosted battery life, customizable fit

Another quality of the charging case is its contribution to an already impressive battery life. Belkin said the buds offers 8 hours of playtime. Then storing them in the wireless charging case adds 28 hours of battery, for a total of 36 hours of usage time.

The buds carry an IPX5 rating for sweat and water resistance and come with a variety of silicone ear tips and wing tips for an adjustable fit.

Belkin said it plans to launch the SoundForm Immerse Noise Cancelling Earbuds in the second quarter of 2022 at a price of $179.99. You can sign up for email updates on the company’s website.
