Australia-based Røde Microphones rolled out a host of free updates to its Røde Central app, making its popular Wireless Go II Dual Channel Wireless Microphone System more capable and easier to use in a variety of ways.

Røde Central is the Wireless Go II’s companion app. It allows users to access onboard recordings, unlock advanced features and configure their device. The upgraded software delivers a more streamlined workflow for users, with improved file management, recording navigation and export options. The company described the changes in a blog post and accompanying video, below.

Wireless Go II microphone: new features

Updates to the Røde Central app make the following user experience enhancements possible in the Wireless Go II microphone, the company said.

Batch export

Export multiple recording files simultaneously.

Exporting selections

Export sections of recordings individually via manual selection, rather than exporting the entire file.

Marker indexing

User markers manually dropped in a recording are now indexed in a drop-down menu. That makes specific sections of a recording easy to access and export.

Color-coded markers

Dropout markers and user markers are now color coded red and green to make it easier to differentiate between them.

Dropout regions

When several dropouts occur within 10 seconds of each other in a recording,  an exportable “dropout region” will display rather than multiple dropout markers appearing in a bunch.

‘Jump-to Marker’ buttons

Newly added ‘Jump-to Marker’ buttons make it easy to locate and export dropouts, dropout regions and user markers.

Naming recordings

Users can now manually edit recording names.

Improved recording navigation

Two new features make it easier to navigate long recordings. Each recording now features a mini-nav bar at the top, enabling users to quickly jump to a region within it rather than scrubbing through the whole file. And the main recording waveform now features a zoom function.

The Wireless Go II microphone costs $299 from a variety of sellers listed on the Røde website by region.
