Apple TV+ picks up a respectable 9 Critics Choice nominations

Apple starts shooting second season of For All Mankind next month
“For All Mankind” picked up a nomination Best Drama Series in the Critics Choice TV Awards. Other Apple TV+ shows also received nominations.

Apple TV+ received nine nominations across six programs for the 27th Annual Critics Choice TV Awards. That includes Best Drama Series for For All Mankind, Best Comedy Series for Ted Lasso, and Best Movie Made for Television for Come From Away.

The winners will be announced in January.

Critics Choice TV Awards recognize Apple TV+ shows and films

The award juggernaut that is Ted Lasso rolled on. In addition to a nomination for Best Comedy Series, Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein each received nominations for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, respectively.

For All Mankind’s second season garnered its first-ever Critics Choice Award nomination.

Acapulco was nominated for Best Foreign Language Series. The Apple TV+ film Come From Away also landed a nomination for Best Movie Made for Television.

Season two of The Morning Show was recognized with its second consecutive nomination for Billy Crudup in the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category. He won the same award two years ago.

Kristen Chenoweth got a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Schmigadoon!.

The winners of the Critics Choice TV Awards will be revealed on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The awards show will be on The CW and TBS.

Since the debut of Apple TV+ just over two years ago, Apple’s series and films have earned 170 wins and 623 nominations. That includes Oscars, Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards, SAG Awards and more.
