Struggling to get hold of one of Apple’s newest devices ahead of the holidays? InventoryWatch is a free and simple Mac app that sends you an alert when the gear you want is in stock and available for pick up at your local Apple Store.

It currently works in the United States and five other countries and regions. And it tracks availability of a handful of Apple’s most popular devices.

InventoryWatch keeps an eye on Apple Store stock

It’s incredibly difficult to obtain a number of Apple products right now, thanks in part to the global chip shortage that is affecting a wide range of devices — not just from Apple, but from almost all technology companies.

But finding stock just got a lot easier with InventoryWatch, a free macOS app that automatically checks the availability of a number of Apple products in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, South Korea and Hong Kong.

InventoryWatch currently tracks these devices:

  • MacBook Pro (14- and 16-inch)
  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13 mini
  • iPad mini

Simply tell the app what you’re looking for and where you want to collect it from. Then it will send you an alert as soon as the product you want becomes available.

Looking for something else?

If the product you want or the country you reside in isn’t listed above, you can ask for them to be added through GitHub, where InventoryWatch is available to download. Note, however, that there are limitations for certain devices.

If the device you want is available in build-to-order configurations, like the new MacBook Pro (and other Mac models), InventoryWatch can only check availability for variants that are stocked by Apple retail stores.

InventoryWatch is free to download and use, but it does require macOS 11.5 Big Sur or later.
